Canon Ixus 80IS

at first i was torn between Sony Cybershot or Canon Ixus since the SLR camera is way out of my tight budget. but eventually at the end of the bargain, i think Canon produce pictures that are far superior than any comparable major brands within it's league. so, day 1 with the camera, still hasn't fully figure out how to utilise all the function. i guess it will be quite a while before i can click this camera like a pro huh.

the X files: i want to believe

again, this movie is not worth your penny unless ur a hardcore fan of the series. even so, it feels like u r watching a longer stretch of any given episode of the X files. as a whole, there is nothing exciting that i can talk about. sad but true, it's about time to dismiss all the cases and close the X files.

something embarassing

it happened last Thursday after my visit to KMB.... but luckily ida was there to share that "pleasant" experience. hahah, i'll update on this later but above all this, i would like to express my gratitude to ida for all the help n support. i don't know what to do if ur not there.

hellboy 2 : the golden army

i would've enjoy this movie had it been shot by a different director. but this film, coming from Guillermo del Toro, who i truly respect for his previous critically acclaimed Pan's labyrinth.. shows that even the best of director is not shielded from making crappy film once in a while. maybe i have exceptional expectation and paying rm 12 to watch a charade of monsters battling it out, proving that mankind is the unworthy ruler of the planet earth is just cliche. nothing new is brought out to the table. i give it a 7/10 only because of the monsters.

daughtry concert in OU

a friend of mine won 4 tickets to see Daughtry in central park avenue, One utama next week. and the best part is that he generously offer me an invitation. yeay.. free ticket to see good music. what better way to spend my Saturday night!!

not a sex expert

Being a fan of the original series some years ago, i must say that i'm not entirely happy about this highly anticipated movie. despite of it being an epic for showcasing glamorous women of new york celebrating their lives by being fabulous, adorning in designers label, wearing to die for ball gowns with the most ridiculously extravagant Manolo stilettos (or maybe some Choo), i honestly find the overall picture as being dull and slightly monotonous. the movie revolves around Carrie, the supposed leading lady and the narrator of the story who is blessed with more lines, fancier wardrobes , tons of accessories and not to mention her lower Manhattan apartment, courtesy of her generous prince charming, Big (some bitches get all the luck in the world!).

and around Carrie, stood her 3 loyal companions, all whom which we know as Carrie's bff, the prude Charlotte, the cougar queen Samantha and the Harvard graduated law student, Miranda. As expected, each of these supporting casts are awarded with bits and pieces of storyline, clumsiliy wrapped around the centerfold of the story, the uninspired tale of miss Bradshaw. And that is perfectly fine provided that the storyline is strong enough to support all the plots of this fabulous four new yorkers, but unfortunately, imo, the writer are trying hard to cram all this rather "foolish" subplots into a 2 hour slot movie making the end result to be somewhat confusing. and really... what's up with the casting of Jennifer Hudson as carrie's assistant? we all know her from Dreamgirls and we adore her top notched, Oscar worthy performance but in this movie... her appearance is really UNNECESSARY. and talking about the ending...just like anybody would've guess, Carrie is back with her long lasting love, Mr.Big, perhaps secretly the only man that Carrie has ever loved throughout the entire series. having said all that, the only good thing coming from this movie is the return of the absolute sex kitten Samantha Jones. she's the epitome of sex symbols everywhere for women of her age. she's 50 already and she can easily robbed Carrie from her non deserving limelight. now that is what i call a cougar with true sex appeal!

a brush up

few days ago, i had a fight with my own niece!!!. but rest assured it was just a war of words, with both parties throwing insults to one another. and at the moment, we're are not speaking. the least that she can do is to eat the humble pie and seek my apology. i'm the older guy here. i'm the uncle. i demand some respect.

wanted

it's a good film but the sad thing is that ... Angelina Jolie died is the last few minutes of the story. so, i'll guess we won't be seeing Angie the sequel then. by the way, it's kind of weird seeing James Mcavoy in an action packed movie. charming yes, romantic maybe, melodramatic probably but he lacks the cutting edge of an action hero. luckily he's a good actor, so his performance in the film is rather convincing.

tiring day

i went back and forth, going in circles in my attempt to visit time square, low yatt, lot 10, sg wang, star hill and pavilion all in one go. it's pretty much exhausting, no doubt about that. huh

yesterday i spotted this cool sony vaio notebook at low yatt. even with some upgrades that insisted on, the price is still affordable. hmm... i never own a vaio before. tempting.
